Meet the artists taking part in CONTEMPORANEO 2025, an artist residency set in a rural environment:
Pilar Sáenz is a multidisciplinary artist from Seville whose practice centres on ceramics as a medium for exploring memory, identity and the symbolic. She combines techniques such as embroidery on clay with mixed media, seeking a dialogue between the traditional and the contemporary.
She took part in the European project CARPET: Craft, Art and People Together (2019) and has shown her work in national and international exhibitions. Her work has been awarded, among others, by the International University of Andalusia, and is held in collections in Spain, Portugal and the Netherlands.
